A custom gaming PC built around Theo's budget

Theo came to Steve and Marcel looking for a fresh approach to his gaming setup. The job began with the practical questions: which parts worked together, what should be reused, and how to make the finished machine feel like his own.

This is Theo's actual PC, planned and built by the Steve and Marcel team behind Elements. His first case was too small for the full-size motherboard in the proposed platform, so the team worked through a case and power-supply plan before building. The finished machine has a black panoramic case, visible cooling and a display on the processor cooler.

Getting the platform and case right

The early conversation centred on a strong processor-and-motherboard platform, memory, storage and cooling within Theo's budget. Marcel pointed out that Theo's initial smaller case would not fit the ATX motherboard being considered. Rather than force a poor fit, the plan was revised around a compatible case and power supply.

The result is a roomy black glass-sided build with lighting that can shift from warm orange to cool blue or purple. Theo's photos also show a cooler display and neatly arranged fan layout. Those details matter because this is a PC he will see and use every day, not just a specification on paper.

Theo's verdict

Theo later wrote in his public Google review of The IT Guy Bournemouth: “Built me an amazing rig to fit my budget, excellent service and quality build within the time frame, highly recommend.” The review refers to work by Steve and Marcel, the same team behind Elements.

His photos were taken while he was changing graphics cards, so the card shown here is not a claim about the final graphics specification.
