Lorenzo's existing machine had developed a graphics fault. His mother, Patricia, considered replacing the failed part, then asked what a new gaming PC could offer him instead. Marcel discussed the games, the visual style and the existing monitor before preparing a build that included a matching 27-inch WQHD display. Patricia later published a review under the name P Roz.

A platform and display chosen together
The agreed specification paired an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB, 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. An ASRock B850M PRO RS Wi-Fi motherboard, 1000 W supply and 360 mm all-in-one CPU cooler completed the core platform. The case was a black Vida Akira V2 with panoramic glazing and controllable lighting. A 27-inch MSI WQHD gaming monitor and DisplayPort cable were included in the order so the new graphics system would have a suitable display.
From diagnosis to a finished setup
Steve and Marcel discussed the choice between a replacement graphics card and a new machine before the order was placed on 8 April. The parts arrived the next day. During assembly, Marcel added a better support for the heavy graphics card than the one supplied in its box. The PC and new screen were ready for collection on 15 April, with guidance on transporting the tower and connecting the display.
